A picturesque view of the Ballards by the Lake Bed & Breakfast and Event Center.

This beautiful property is the vision of Currie Ballard, the former Historian in Resident at Langston University and a renowned collector of African American Art and historical artifacts. In 1985 Currie built this home for his personal residence. It was his unselfish focus to incorporate the home into nature, rather than disturb nature.

When Currie passed in 2014, we decided to turn the home into a Bed & Breakfast and Event center to honor his legacy. We have worked tirelessly to renovate the home so that all may enjoy. The name is in loving memory of him. The rooms are named after his beloved friend’s family, that were instrumental in carrying out the renovation, plus his love for Fraternities, Sororities and his Alma Mater Langston University.

Amongst the beautiful trees and gorgeous Langston Lake, it truly is a serene and tranquil place!
